Ian Abrahams Hawkwind Sonic Assassins 288pp, many rare photos click for big pic Sorry - no longer available. THE history of the space hippies/proto-punks themselves. The most definitive book on Hawkwind to date and a rollocking good read. Their wild anarchic world brought to life - makes you want slap on a old CD or two. This well written and produced book covers their entire history up to just a few short months ago - therefore it's not afraid at having a look at some of the band's more recent 'disputes'. Plenty of comments from band members past and present, including of course Tim Blake. Ron Tree is hearteningly honest with his comments on the band and himself. It's thoroughly illustrated with dozens black and white photographs, many of which come from Captain Brock's private collection and are previously unpublished. Recommended to anyone with even a passing interest in the Hawks. |
