Fantastically recorded Tibetan chanting

If you know nothing of Tibetan Chanting and it's extraordinary power, I can think of no better place to start than this CD. Originally released in 1989 this CD was produced by Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart. Not designed as entertainment, these chants are prayers refined over centuries as potential vehicles of enlightenment no less!

Yamantaka: A chant believed to have the power to exorcise the human afflictions of anger, lust and envy and transform them into creative wisdom.

Mahakala: The most important protector from evil in all Tibetan Buddhism who tramples on the spirits of delusion and greed. An agent of Avalokiteshvara the angelic Bodhisattva of great compassion.

#2 For Gaia: Phillip Glass, Mickey Hart, Kitaro create during the Mahakala Offering ritual at a moment where the monks visualize millions of "musical deities" streaming forth from the mandala and pleaseing the deities by performing every kind of music known to men and gods.

Track Listing: Total Runtime 73.50
  1. Yamantaka 27.14
  2. Mahakala 26.58
  3. #2 For Gaia 9.17 (Phillip Glass, Mickey Hart, Kitaro)
