The 'other' band in the life of the Brazilian Invisibles main-man. Fabio gave me a few copies of this DVD at the Unconvention and I'm afraid have only just got round to having a look (sorry Fab). Despite knowing that the band's CD are very good I wasn't quite what to expect as I slid the DVD into the computer.

Silly old me, no need to worry in the slightest. From opening moments I was delighted with the quality of this DVD It is a fantastically well filmed gig from November 2004 in San Paulo with the band playing a set of largely original compositions (think excellently played mid period Pink Floyd with Gongish/Steveish knobs on and you won't be very far from the mark), with a full 25 piece chamber orchestra. It's wonderful, Fabio's guitar playing is a revelation, I mean I knew he was good but... If we ever choose to venture down the Unconvention path again the whole Violetta de Outono band have simply got to be there. Their brand of heartfelt, optimistic psychedelic-progressive rock without doubt hits the spot and is totally of the family.

I found it facinating that it makes no difference at all one's enjoyment of the DVD, or to the power and quality of the performance that Fabio sings, quite wonderfully I may add, mostly in Portugese with just a couple of songs in English, in fact it somehow adds to the proceedings.

Oh yes one last thing, I know where the Beatles went wrong with 'Tomorrow Never Knows' - it's missing glissando guitar.
