One of the quietest years for some time Gong-wise, no dates at all for that band. But this is more than compensated for by The University of Errors, the only Gong Family band with a run of gigs in this year. They are a stupendous breath of fresh air. They play the first of several US West coast gigs with Kevin Ayers in the band (Aug) in preparation for their European/UK debut in (Sept), where they also support the Electric Prunes on some dates.
Daevid also gigs with Kawabata Mokoto and Cotton Casino of Acid Mothers Temple, as Guru & Zero in the States (Aug) and with Mark Robson (Oct). He ends his European giging year with a small run of dates 'solo' with Graham Clark (Nov) before a final University of Errors gig in California on his way back to Australia.
